Who We Are
Terra Housing Co-operative Ltd.
Terra Housing Co-operative Ltd. is non-profit, member managed housing that consists of two and three bedroom townhouses, each equipped with a fridge and stove. As a co-operative, Terra Housing invites residents’ contribution and input through an elected Board of Directors. In return for the many benefits, residents are expected to participate in the indoor and outdoor maintenance of the property. These benefits include:
- Quality, safe, affordable living
- A strong community environment with a commitment to helping each other.
- Stable housing costs – housing is provided on a non-profit basis.
- The right to permanent residency – members can live in their units as long as they wish. There must be just cause for evictions in accordance with our bylaws.
- Direct and equal control by all members over the running of their home and community.
All of these benefits can be yours with a small amount of your time invested each month. You will have a role in the management and maintenance of the properties. There are no outside shareholders, so Terra members are the landlords. Members are responsible for maintaining the inside and outside of their units. Each member must join an organization committee and participate at least 3 hours a month, attend monthly meetings and attend annual general meetings. Success depends on the involvement and commitment of each member.
Social activities are held throughout the year, a great way to meet and bond with your new community. Terra is a great place to live and by working together we ensure that our children have freedom and security – we all watch over them to keep them safe!

Our Mission
It is our creed to have respect for ourselves and for each other; to acknowledge one another’s contribution in a way that is honorable; to treat all members equally and to act in accordance with the bylaws, policies and guidelines, which we as a community have created and are committed to upholding. We look to our Board of Directors to maintain the business of the co-operative to the best of their ability and to offer us direction at the committee level. We aim to continuously strive to make improvements in our physical surroundings and within our hearts.
With respect, we can create open communication; through communication we will have greater understanding; by understanding each other we will foster acceptance – and from acceptance friendship will grow.
